Dr. Ihedi Ruth Adugba, is the President and Founder of Global Vision Hospital, a nonprofit healthcare institution, is an esteemed philanthropist and researcher dedicated to advancing healthcare accessibility and improving patient outcomes in Nigeria. Driven by a profound commitment to community health, Dr. Ruth has successfully established Global Vision Hospital as a leading provider of compassionate patient care, innovative medical diagnostics, and impactful community health initiatives.
Dr. Ruth holds an MBA and a PhD, uniquely combining extensive expertise in healthcare administration, strategic management, and scientific research. Through visionary leadership and a deep sense of social responsibility, Dr. Ruth actively works to bridge healthcare disparities, focusing on initiatives designed to benefit underserved and vulnerable populations.
As a proactive advocate for sustainable healthcare solutions, Dr. Ruth continues to lead Global Vision Hospital with integrity and innovation, promoting collaborative partnerships and enhancing the quality and scope of healthcare services to positively impact community and global health outcomes.
As the Chief Executive officer of Global Vision for Women and Children, she works tirelessly to heighten awareness about global maternal health challenges. She is the visionary founder of the St. Ruth children’s research hospital in Nigeria. With an unwavering commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for children suffering from catastrophic illnesses, Dr. Ruth has dedicated her career to addressing the disparities in maternal and pediatric healthcare across underserved communities in Nigeria.
Dr. Barbara Okoli
Ophthalmologist
Dr. Barbara serves as the lead Ophthalmologist at Global Vision Hospital, bringing extensive experience and expertise in eye care and surgical treatment. Passionate about vision health and committed to improving community access to ophthalmic care, Dr. Barbara specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Barbara has performed numerous successful eye surgeries, significantly improving vision and quality of life for many individuals within Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. Dr. Barbara also plays a pivotal role in community outreach programs, offering free eye screenings and surgeries to underserved populations.
A highly respected professional within the ophthalmic community, Dr. Barbara continues to advance vision care through continuous education, innovative treatment approaches, and active collaboration with other healthcare professionals at Global Vision Hospital.
Dr. Kelvin Ogelle
Medical Director/Board Member
Dr. Kelvin Ogelle is an internist at the Ogelleson clinics in New York. He is the medical director and a board member of Global Vision for Women and Children. Dr. Ogelle oversees the clinical practice standards, policies, and procedures of GVWC to ensure high-quality care and patient safety across the organization. He monitors and evaluates the delivery of medical services, ensuring that they meet the needs of the community or target population served by GVWC. He works on public health campaigns to raise awareness about the organization’s services and the health issues it addresses. He works tirelessly to engage with community stakeholders to identify health needs and ensure the organization’s services are appropriately aligned with those needs. He is a Dallas Cowboys fan, and he loves to travel with his wife to different parts of the world.
Dr Gregory Ikechukwu
Family Practice
Dr. Greg serves as the Consultant Family Doctor at Global Vision Hospital, bringing extensive experience in comprehensive family medicine and community healthcare. With a commitment to providing patient-centered care, Dr. Greg specializes in preventive care, chronic disease management, and holistic patient wellness across all age groups.
Dr. Greg is highly skilled in diagnosing and managing diverse medical conditions, ensuring continuity of care and promoting long-term patient relationships built on trust and understanding. Deeply committed to community health, Dr. Greg actively participates in outreach programs and health education initiatives aimed at enhancing overall community wellness in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.
Recognized for clinical excellence and compassionate care, Dr. Grey collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams at Global Vision Hospital to ensure comprehensive, coordinated, and quality healthcare services for families and individuals alike.
Dr. Opara Nnamdi
Medical Officer MBBS (Imo State University, College of Medicine)
Dr. Opara Nnamdi is a proficient medical practitioner with a passion for delivering comprehensive and compassionate care. A graduate of Imo State University College of Medicine, he is fully licensed by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
He believes in a holistic, patient-centered approach to healthcare, one that treats the individual beyond the illness, emphasizes empathy, and supports long term wellbeing. Dr. Opara is committed to empowering patients through education, early intervention, and preventive strategies.
His professional and research interests span chronic disease management, infectious diseases, maternal and child health, preventive medicine, public health, and health system strengthening policies among others. He continues to combine clinical practice with a growing involvement in research and healthcare improvement initiatives.
Dr. Pachaline Obinna
Optometrist
Dr. Pachaline Obinna is the dedicated Optometrist at Global Vision Hospital, bringing comprehensive expertise in vision care and eye health management. Committed to enhancing community access to quality eye care, Dr. Obinna specializes in vision examinations, corrective lens prescriptions, and managing ocular diseases such as refractive errors, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease.
Known for a compassionate and patient-focused approach, Dr. Obinna conducts thorough eye examinations and provides personalized treatment plans that significantly improve visual health and patient quality of life. Actively involved in community outreach, Dr. Obinna frequently participates in vision screening initiatives and education campaigns promoting preventive eye care across Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

Mr. Kennedy John
Managing Director
Mr. Kennedy John is the managing director of Global Vision for Women and Children. He is an Attorney and has his own private practice. He oversees the overall strategic direction, operations, and financial health of the organization. He is responsible for ensuring that Global Vision for Women and Children achieves its mission while maintaining effective management of resources and adhering to governance standards. Attorney Kennedy John works closely with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders to develop long-term strategic plans and ensure alignment with the mission and vision of the nonprofit. He helps to develop and manage the organization’s annual budget in collaboration with the finance team and Board of Directors. He is an avid tennis player.
Chibuzor Nwankwo
Program Director
Chibuzor Nwankwo is the Program Director. She plans the delivery of the overall program and activities of the organization in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. She is very skilled at engaging with battered women and their whole family by providing emotional support and helping them heal.
She is also in-charge of marketing and responsible for developing and cultivating relationships with corporate partners. She studied Laboratory science at the University of Nigeria Nsuka.
Ihuoma Onyema
Treasurer
Ihuoma Onyema is the Project Manager and oversees financial management and strategy for Global Vision for Women and Children. She works so hard to ensure that the program operates within the approved budget. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Abia State University Uturu.
