Immunization and HPV Prevention
GVWC supports efforts worldwide to ensure that pregnant women and their unborn babies are safe from the harmful impact of malaria. Our approach addresses malaria prevention and control comprehensively across the health “continuum of care,” from the community to health facility to national level. We help to ensure that young children and adults, in addition to pregnant women, are receiving prevention and treatment for malaria.
We provide routine immunization to mothers and children. Vaccines include but are not limited to measles, polio, whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria, meningitis, yellow fever, hepatitis B, tuberculosis, pneumonia and diarrhea.
While Africa has made tremendous gains toward increasing access to immunization in the last 15 years, progress has stagnated, leaving one in five of African children without access to life-saving vaccines. As a result, vaccine-preventable diseases continue to claim too many lives.
Immunization is one of the most cost-effective solutions in global health, with clear benefits for health and sustainable development. GVWC is at the forefront enabling Africa to reach its full potential – by improving health, driving economic growth and empowering future generations.
